There is a lot of work involved in updating device drivers, so we strongly suggest downloading and installing a driver update utility. View and Download Canon I560 Series quick start manual online. An incorrect driver or version for your hardware will cause further damage. While finding, downloading, and manually updating your I Series i560 drivers takes a lot of time, the process can also be confusing. Suggestions I have been unable to find help on several Microsoft forums or from Canon. The problem is that the Windows 7 is unable to find the driver even though there appears to be one on Live Update. I can print from the Vista but not from the Windows 7. Locating the right I Series i560 driver on Canon's website can be very difficult, and can often take a lot of time searching. The printer is a Canon i560 that is connected via usb to the XP pc. The good news is that you can often update the device driver to fix the Printer problem. I Series i560 errors are often caused by viruses of outdated and corrupted device drivers.

Thanks for the heads up.Drivers are small software programs that allow clear communication, acting as means for the operating system to "talk" to the i560 Printer. I haven't done any preventive maintenence on it yet, but will try some of the solutions recommended here. I've noticed the same black lines in the lower corner of the image as you describe when using my recently purchased i9900. They will give you a new printhead under warranty if it is within one year of purchase date. If not, you probably need a new printhead, and they are about $100. Once it is all dry, you can put it back together and run the calibrate test and hope that it prints better. Make sure it is really dry, but don't put a paint remover gun to it.

Remember the circuits on the back and don't wet them, or you have to really let this thing dry. Let it soak for awhile and then rinse well with warm water running through the ink holes.

Some home make a syringe and squirt windex through the ink hole. You soak the bottom of the unit in a little windex, and squirt some in each of the ink holes. The circuits are on the back, and do NOT get them wet. For the best experience on our site, be sure to turn on Javascript in your browser. You have to remove each of the ink carts, and "cap" them with foil or something, because you are not gonna put them back in the printer for awhile. Has anyone else had any problems with this printer or any similar problems? Don't let this thread die, the people have a right to know! When it doesn't print photos with black lines at the lower left edge. I understand if this printer was 5 years old or something, but it's NOT EVEN A YEAR old! I bought this understanding it's one of the best printers out there for printing photos. Bottom line is, my only two options are: get a 'refurbished' model (yeah right) or buy a two year warranty ($135) to protect me in case this happens again. Canon i560 printer problems pro#
It prints fine on matte photo paper but not on glossy pro photo paper (again, Canon paper.) So now I have to take it in AGAIN. Then last week, same problem starts happening again. So I haven't used it since, only the official Canon Ink. The people who fixed it told me that it had something to do with the third party ink I was using. It was still covered under warranty and I took it in and got it fixed free of charge. I did the cleaning and even the deep cleaning, print head alignment, etc. Only problem is, about halfway through the year, it was printing images with black lines on the edge of the print. This has been a problem for a little while but recently, the colors got a little offset so it became really obvious. Last June, I purchased a new Canon I9900 Photo printer. I've been having a pretty annoying problem with my Canon i560: When printing black text, instead of using the black ink, the printer mixes black from the color inks. Not sure if this is where I should post this or not.
